What is Belper and District 50+ Forum



It is a body of people over 50 who have join together and formed a committee, to try and help the people of  Belper and district on local and recreational issues which relate to 50+ and over.


This is all done with the help of  Derbyshire County Council Staff who provide admin support and help to organize the open and committee meetings.



The Committee meet every month, meetings are held at

The Strutts Centre Derby Road, Belper

On a Monday and starts at 10.30 a.m. – If this interests you please come along.



Open meeting at held every three months during the year, and these are at

Belper Congregational Church

Church Walk, Off Green Lane, Belper, Derbyshire. DE56 1DB

10.30am starts till 12.30 pm

The Objectives or aims of the forum are



*    To enable the voices of people aged over 50 years and over to be heard

*    To provide an  effective, representative and independent advocate for the

         views of people aged 50 years and over

*    To gather and provide information on issues affecting people aged 50 years and over

*    To arrange opportunities for people aged 50 and over to network with service providers

*    To monitor new services and developments that affect people aged 50 years and over

*    To provide statutory, voluntary and private organisations with the views of people

        aged 50 years  and over about existing and proposed services  

 *    To influence policy and practice concerning people aged 50 years and over at a local,        regional

         and national level

 *    To pursue the implementation of the UN Declaration of the Rights of Older People (1991)
